Coney Island, the historic amusement park in Cincinnati, has dropped a bombshell on its loyal patrons. After over a century of thrilling rides and family fun, this beloved park is saying goodbye. The park made the shocking announcement that after its “Night of Lights” holiday event on December 31, it will permanently close its doors. 

The news hit the city like a ton of bricks, leaving families devastated and nostalgic for the good times they’ve had at the park. The iconic Sunlite Pool, added in 1925, holds countless cherished memories for generations of Cincinnatians. The park’s statement expressed their pride in being a place where families made treasured memories. 

Coney Island’s management is selling the park to Music & Event Management Inc., a subsidiary of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. They plan to transform the park into a music venue that they claim will be “cutting-edge”. This decision has left many scratching their heads and wondering what the future holds for their beloved Coney Island.The park’s website even announced that all season passes purchased for the 2024 season at Sunlite Pool will be fully refunded.
