In the latest display of what could only be described as a descent into the absurd, CNN put together a panel that resembled a Thunderdome of ideological warfare. The setup featured host Abby Phillip and her sidekick Cari Champion, who seemed intent on browbeating commentator Scott Jennings into submission over the increasingly ridiculous concept of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). It was a classic example of how the Left still hasn’t learned from the political defeats of 2024, opting instead for race-baiting antics that fall flatter than a pancake in a wind tunnel.
The antics on this CNN segment sank to new lows, as the hosts attempted to vilify Jennings—essentially for the crime of being a white, conservative male. One would have thought they were auditioning to set a new record for absurdity, rather than engaging in the civilized discourse they pretended to support. Apparently, the only way to foster “civil exchange” at CNN is through relentless attacks that reflect more on the hosts than the guests. The segment didn’t just lack substance; it was so embarrassing that it could have been mistaken for a poorly written comedy skit.

Cari Champion’s snarkiness could only be described as juvenile. It’s hard to imagine how anyone could take her seriously when her commentary felt less like an intelligent critique and more like a teenager throwing a tantrum. While famously branded as a channel for civil discourse, CNN instead showcased a segment filled with vitriol, with all the charm of a revved-up chainsaw. One wonders if the producers rebranded “Thunderdome” as shorthand for “Loud and Proud Leftist Pile-On.”
In a particularly revealing moment, Jennings was told he “needs to understand” that he—and by extension, conservative America—is wrong. The implication was clear: in order to move forward, he must see that his mere existence is somehow a threat to “black and brown” individuals. This demand for racial contrition sounds more like a leftist fantasy of reeducation camps than a legitimate conversation. Such tactics do nothing to unify; rather, they serve only to incite division and resentment, the hallmark of Leftist rhetoric.
As the segment spiraled into the ludicrous, it became apparent that Abby Phillip and her cohort would rather wield the knife of racial tension rather than extend a hand toward actual unity. For all their shouting and smirking, they seem unaware that their so-called mainstream values are anything but popular. They lost the 2024 election for a reason, and the continued promotion of DEI has alienated the very voters they depend on. Meanwhile, the political landscape is shifting in favor of those who focus on real issues, as conservatives tear through the old guard of the DC establishment.
Without a doubt, there’s more joy to be found in Scott Jennings’ unyielding patience than in the dramatic performances of his adversaries. It will take much more than relentless whining and posturing for the Left to reclaim relevance in a country that is increasingly siding with sanity in the face of absurdity. The message is clear: while the liberals continue to fling mud, conservatives are on the path to true progress—and no amount of snark will stand in their way.
