The recent appearance of Texas Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett on CNN’s “Laura Coates Live” showcased a stunning lack of accountability or challenge from the liberal network. During the segment, Crockett launched a scathing attack on “mediocre white boys” who dare to voice concerns about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. According to her, these complaints are nothing more than “white tears” from those too soft to handle the new DEI agenda—which sounds like a new flavor of ice cream for them.
In a world dominated by DEI policies, it seems that the only thing resembling actual qualifications are the barriers put in place to ensure that white men face an uphill battle in their careers. Crockett’s inflammatory rhetoric ignores the stark reality that in many sectors, competence is being overshadowed by a relentless push for diversity quotas. Apparently, working ten times harder—Crockett’s self-proclaimed experience—is no longer a path to success if DEI policies dictate who gets ahead.

Crockett also took a moment to compare herself favorably to prominent Republican women like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert. Her assertion that comparisons to these women demonstrate the injustice of her own electoral victories falls flat. While she sauntered into Congress without a Republican opponent and snagged an impressive 85 percent of the vote, many in her party have fought tooth and nail just to keep their spots. It’s hard to feel sorry for someone complaining about lack of effort when they leapfrog into office.
Adding to the circus, Crockett denounced white men for not wanting to see more Black individuals educated. The claim implies that individuals cling to their privileged positions by keeping minorities in the dark. This type of rhetoric is not only defeatist but does a disservice to those who have worked hard to achieve success in this country, including historically Black colleges and universities, which received unprecedented federal support under President Trump. Anyone who believes Crockett’s insinuations must have missed the memo on the administration’s efforts to bolster education for Black Americans.
As if the tirade was not outrageous enough, Crockett tossed out a completely absurd notion regarding ICE rounding up Native Americans and Puerto Ricans—both groups of which could certainly school her on their status as Americans. One can only wonder if CNN ever thought they’d see the day where a member of Congress would muddle basic facts while launching into a radical diatribe. But hey, in a world where history is rewritten to fit contemporary political narratives, why not?
The lack of pushback from CNN on Crockett’s comments is particularly telling. It suggests that the network is less interested in promoting informed discussion than in allowing partisan attacks to plow ahead unchecked. One can consider this yet another day in the world of media where victimhood takes center stage. While administering this diatribe, Crockett forgot one critical piece of information: actual history doesn’t bend to political whims. Yet, that might be precisely the point for those pushing a DEI agenda—the narrative prevails over the facts.
