In yet another example of liberal hypocrisy, CNN is desperately trying to convince us that Zohran Mamdani, the newly elected Mayor of New York City, is not a leader in the Democratic Party. Oh, please! This is just another attempt by the left to soften the truth with wordplay. Mamdani, with his radical socialist ideas, is exactly what the Democrats are about these days. The attempt to paint him as a mere footnote in their playbook is laughable.
And just what did Mamdani campaign on? Government-run grocery stores, free child care, and free buses—promises that sound so good in la-la land. But who’s going to pay for it? You guessed it—the hardworking folks living in predominantly white, wealthy neighborhoods. Apparently, the Democrats have no qualms about rolling out the old tax-and-spend strategy, as long as it protects their urban strongholds while masquerading as social justice.

Yet, here comes CNN’s Bakari Sellers, telling us that Mamdani isn’t really the face of the Democratic Party. Right. This is the new face—progressive, big-government, high-tax ideologies. It seems the left is desperate to save face amid their internal identity crisis. Bernie Sanders and Robert B. Reich cheering Mamdani on should be a signal enough. These endorsements reveal quite a lot about who’s really steering the Democratic ship.
Let’s not forget the spectacle around Mamdani quoting a socialist convict during his victory speech. It’s no surprise that fewer than a thousand Americans paid attention. The rest of America doesn’t have time for socialist daydreams and identity politics that don’t put food on the table or pay the bills. The mainstream media and liberal talking heads would rather pretend otherwise because calling out Mamdani’s radical agenda would mean admitting how far left their party has gone.
Is New York City ready for a socialist experiment under Mamdani’s rule? Time will tell, but the rest of America should be wary. As this leftist vision continues to unravel, the question remains: how much farther left can the Democratic Party slide before even its grassroots supporters crumble?
