In the political circus that is America today, one might think we’ve reached peak absurdity. Enter CNN’s Jake Tapper, a figure who suddenly realizes what conservatives have been screaming from the rooftops for years: Democrats are out of touch. His recent revelation came after a gaggle of leftist podcasters took a potshot at his teenage son for wanting to be a police officer. Can we be honest here? A young person wanting to serve and protect their community should be celebrated, not scorned. Only a liberal out of touch with American values could twist that into something sinister.
Tapper, usually lockstep with liberal media, had his epiphany during this unprovoked attack. It was an eye-opener: the very group he’s long been part of is losing the culture war because they’ve become elitist snobs, dismissive of the working class. Law enforcement offers a path to decent wages and benefits, without requiring a four-year lecture from some university stuffed with leftist narratives. For many, it’s a noble profession, yet the Democrats treat police officers like society’s unwanted stepchildren.
And speaking about liberal disdain, let’s talk about the condescension here. Making a cheap joke about Tapper’s son, assuming he’s inherently racist because of his career aspirations, is a new low even for the left. But it doesn’t take a mental gymnast to understand why Democrats keep losing ground with everyday Americans. Their ivory tower thinking drives people away. They moan about losing elections, yet they continue to alienate those who wake up every day, lace up their boots, and make this country run.
If the impression the Left gets from police officers is that they are all racist, then they must look at the politicians they've elected that actually make the laws. Police officers only enforce the laws their politicians have created. https://t.co/ScG0fVmpwy

The left will always find a way to target those who don’t fit their narrow worldview. In this case, it’s a kid wanting to don a police uniform. Tomorrow, it could be your kid for wanting to start a small business or serve in the military. When did dreaming of contributing to society become a punchline? In sane times, which the Democratic base seems allergic to, you’d think they’d learn from the backlash. But that’s the thing with ivory towers—you can’t see the ground below when you’re perched atop.
So while Tapper feels betrayed, one has to ask: Jake, what took you so long? The hypocrisy has been obvious to the rest of us for years. The left’s smugness and clueless rhetoric are the very reasons why they keep losing. Maybe, just maybe, it’s time to recognize that sneering at middle America isn’t a winning strategy. Or are they just too stubborn to care?
