This demand was made in exchange for billions of dollars in loan guarantees from the United States. At the time, Shokin was investigating corruption at Burisma, the same company paying Hunter Biden $80,000 per month to serve on its board. Comer’s letter seeks to shed light on the actions and policies of the Obama-Biden administration regarding Ukraine.
Comer highlights the importance of understanding the State Department’s perspective on the Ukrainian Office of the Prosecutor General under Shokin’s leadership.
