Crime Costs from Illegal Migrants Hits $166.5 Billion, Triple Trump Plan

The staggering costs of crime linked to a staggering 662,000 illegal migrants awaiting deportation have been unveiled, and it turns out the price tag is three times the amount that was thrown around for President-elect Donald Trump’s much-anticipated “mass deportation” plan. While critics frequently downplay concerns about illegal immigration and its consequences, the Crime Prevention Research Center just delivered a financial dose of reality that even those with their heads firmly in the sand can’t ignore.

According to a thorough analysis conducted by John R. Lott Jr., head of the Crime Prevention Research Center, the estimated financial burden caused by crime from these likely deportees is an eye-watering $166.5 billion. This shocking figure is largely calculated from the cost to victims and is supported by a price list established by the National Institute of Justice. It’s a stark reminder that the effects of illegal immigration extend far beyond just the political realm; they hit the pocketbook hard and can’t be brushed aside.

Delving deeper into the numbers, it becomes clear that the lion’s share of these costs comes from one particularly gruesome aspect: murder. Of the total estimated victimization costs, nearly $153.8 billion stems from murder alone. And that’s not the full story; an additional $6 billion can be attributed to sexual assaults, while $5.2 billion is tied to other various sexual offenses. These are not just figures on a spreadsheet; they represent real lives tragically altered or cut short by criminal actions.

What’s more alarming is that this analysis only scratches the surface. It was noted that roughly half of the crimes committed by these non-detained individuals weren’t even assigned a monetary value. This category includes grave offenses such as kidnapping, embezzlement, extortion, smuggling, and traffic violations. If half are unquantified, just imagine the true extent of the problem and the implications for public safety and financial stability.

In contrast, the estimated cost of implementing Trump’s mass deportation initiative was pegged at about $58.3 billion. While some estimates suggest the cost could climb even higher based on a wider scope of deportations, Lott astutely focused on those individuals with the most heinous criminal records. Perhaps this analysis serves as a wake-up call to those who believe the consequences of illegal immigration are merely a figment of the imagination. The financial impact is real, significant, and increasingly undeniable.
