Cruz Critiques Media’s Obsession with Signalgate While Ignoring Biden’s Security Failings

The mainstream media has turned “Signalgate” into their latest obsession, showing once again that Democratic hypocrisy knows no bounds. Where were the hand-wringing editorials and sanctimonious op-eds when national security concerns piled up under the Biden-Harris administration? Senator Ted Cruz took a swing at this manufactured scandal on his podcast “The Verdict,” pointing out the absurdity of the media’s outrage over a text message group that barely registered as a blip on the radar.

As Cruz humorously mentioned, the media had high hopes when the story first broke. They envisioned a triumphant exposé that would bring down key figures in the Trump administration, perhaps even leading to some firings on day 60 of Trump’s presidency. Instead, what unfolded was a typical media circus, eager to turn even the most mundane incidents into colossal non-scandals, all while ignoring the actual boiling issues overseen by the Biden administration.

Cruz didn’t hold back as he dissected the peculiar inclusion of Jeffrey Goldberg, editor of The Atlantic, in the infamous group chat created by Mike Waltz, Trump’s national security advisor. Crossing paths with a liberal like Goldberg in a text thread that’s meant to strategize national security? Now that’s what Cruz termed a “screw up,” but one has to wonder if it was just a literary blunder or if it reveals deeper issues with how the mainstream media operates. After all, Goldberg’s outlet has convoluted the truth about Trump in the past with their infamous hit pieces. If they needed a comic relief buddy on their crusade, they sure found one.

Yet, Cruz doesn’t let the gaffe detract from the significant issues at hand. While the media fixates on texting faux pas, he cleverly reminded listeners that the underlying discussions in the group chat were relatively positive—unlike the underwhelming responses to Houthi aggressions from the previous administration. By taking military action against the Houthis, President Trump was not just sabre-rattling; he was responding decisively, unlike the Biden administration, which had rolled over and delisted terrorists at the start of their term.

In a classic Cruz move, he contrasted Biden’s inactivity with Trump’s assertive tactics — suggesting that while the Democrats were busy fuming about text messages, Americans were paying the price at grocery stores and department stores. With shipping lanes blocked and prices skyrocketing, Cruz illustrated that the Biden-Harris team’s neglect of international threats has real-life consequences for ordinary Americans, further highlighting the divide between both administrations.

As Cruz wrapped up his analysis, he couldn’t help but relish in how Trump is taking a bulldozer to accusations while simultaneously addressing issues. Trump’s open approach to reporters stands in stark contrast to Biden’s evasive tactics, not to mention the chaos surrounding his own administration. Trump’s clarity and responsiveness are applauded, as it sheds light on the mere fact that while Democrats chase down speculative non-stories, the real work for America’s security remains on the chopping block. The disparity in competency between both parties has rarely been more glaring, proving that sometimes the best stories are simply the real ones going untold.
