Hold onto your MAGA hats, folks, because another Democrat is looking to shake things up in the 2024 presidential race. According to a report from the Minneapolis Star Tribune, U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) is set to announce his long-rumored bid for the presidency as early as this Friday. That’s right, the man who has been calling for Democrat governors to challenge President Biden is now throwing his own hat into the proverbial ring.
Now, before you start scratching your head and wondering who in the world Dean Phillips is, let’s give you a little background. Phillips is a Minnesota Democrat who seems to think that left-wing voters are just dying for an alternative to good ol’ Sleepy Joe Biden. He’s been waving around polls like a kid with a pop gun, claiming that 64 percent of Democratic primary voters in New York are open to the idea of a primary challenger to the president. Well, isn’t that just grand? As if we haven’t had enough chaos already!
But wait, there’s more! Phillips wants us to know that he’s not doing this because he thinks he’s the best candidate. Oh no, he’s fully aware that there are probably “better options” out there. So why is he doing it, you ask? Well, according to him, he just feels “compelled” to run because there’s supposedly a lack of options. I don’t know about you, but I think we have more than enough options when it comes to Democratic candidates. It’s like a never-ending buffet of progressive policies and skyrocketing taxes.

To add insult to injury, Phillips has teamed up with former GOP strategist Steve Schmidt, a founding member of the Lincoln Project. Yep, the same Lincoln Project that did everything in their power to get rid of President Trump and the values we hold dear. It’s no surprise that Phillips is cozying up to someone like Schmidt. Birds of a feather, right?
If you thought this was all just talk, get ready to be disappointed. Reports are coming in that a “Dean Phillips For President” van was spotted parked outside a government building in Concord, New Hampshire. And to top it all off, Phillips is scheduled to officially register his campaign on Friday. Can you believe it? We can expect more flyers and rallies from Phillips as he tries to drum up support for his misguided attempt to dethrone President Biden.
Now, some might say that Phillips is just trying to bring healthy competition and choice to the Democratic Party. But let’s be real here. We all know that he’s just jumping on the bandwagon of the leftists who think Biden is too old and too out of touch. Sure, Biden might not be the brightest bulb in the box, but at least he’s not a far-left radical like some of the other contenders we’ve seen. We need stability, not more chaos.
