Democrat Fundraiser Criticizes Kamala Harris’s Interview Skills

Former Democratic National Committee fundraiser Lindy Li has joined the chorus questioning the ability of Vice President Kamala Harris to engage in a straightforward conversation. In a recent chat with podcaster Shawn Ryan, Li expressed her bewilderment over Harris’s tendency to turn interviews into what she termed “endless word salads.” This isn’t a new issue; Harris has built a reputation for spinning her answers in convoluted circles that leave listeners both confused and frustrated.

The spotlight on Harris intensified when comedian Joe Rogan called out her campaign for dodging his invitation to come on his show during her 2024 presidential bid. This incident had Li spiritedly ranting about Harris’s apparent inability to handle basic questions. According to Li, even when speaking directly, Harris morphs into a robotic figure, betraying any hint of genuine human interaction. If one were looking for a relatable politician, Li asserted, Kamala Harris would not be their pick.

Adding to the embarrassment, Harris and her running mate, Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz, have largely skipped out on interviews since Biden’s announcement that he wouldn’t seek reelection, only to reappear for a media blitz as the campaign heated up in October. In a particularly unflattering move, Harris declined a personal opportunity to attend the Al Smith Dinner, opting instead to send videos in which she attempted to showcase some personality with comedian Molly Shannon. Spoiler alert: not a scintilla of spontaneity was injected.

Li later mulled over why Harris struggles with interviews. Some critics, according to Li, suggest a lack of intelligence on Harris’s part or a complete inability to think on her feet. Rumor has it, her own staff members have confessed that she can explode in frustration over her own preparation shortfalls. An explosive politician, perhaps, but not one who’s prepared for a real debate or interview. That paints a rather amusing—but concerning—picture for her campaign.

During the podcast, Ryan himself highlighted a moment from a “60 Minutes” interview where it became painfully clear that Harris was not quick on her feet. Despite being given the chance to expound on serious topics, she tended to be less than eloquent, leaving viewers to wonder if she was truly equipped to handle the presidency. She may want to start brushing up on those talking points if she hopes to maintain any level of credibility among potential voters.
