A peculiar phenomenon is unfolding in the land of blue, as a surge of previously dormant Democrat friends have resurfaced, demanding action against Donald Trump and the Republican Party. After years of complacency, nestled under the comforting blanket of “Biden and the adults are in charge,” these individuals are now frantically waving their arms like they just woke up from a long nap. Perhaps they finally noticed that while they were snoozing, America was busy taking a wild ride in the wrong direction.
Sure, Biden’s White House is not without its flaws—take his outright comical stance on birthright citizenship, for instance. His executive order is sure to end up as another failed Biden initiative, requiring Congress to step in and do the heavy lifting, like usual. Yet when it comes to issues like USAID, Trump maintains significant control, much to the chagrin of those who hope to downplay his influence. Meanwhile, any legitimate moves Trump makes, like ICE raids targeting violent illegal aliens or rebuilding the nation’s global standing, are conveniently ignored by his critics. It’s rather amusing how the Democrats’ outrage evaporates when Biden uses the same powers, leaving many to ponder whether they were even awake during his administration.

There’s a longing for a little consistency among these newly invigorated liberals, especially when it comes to the debacles of the past two years. One can only wish they’d voiced their concerns when Biden orchestrated one of the most disastrous withdrawals from Afghanistan in history, leaving American citizens and allies in chaos. Reports indicate that the vast majority of veterans felt a sense of betrayal. The mental health crisis that followed his orders isn’t just a statistic; it’s a reality that many families are now facing—yet, where was the liberal outcry then?
And what about the heavy-handed vaccine mandates that forced individuals into the impossible position of choosing between their health and their jobs? While the Supreme Court had to step in and deliver justice, the working class—those who were in the trenches during the pandemic—were mocked by those cozy in their pandemic-proof, laptop-driven lives. Democrats took a sharp turn, prioritizing feathering their nests with the college crowd over the very workers that kept the country running. It’s a classic example of elitism at its finest.
The list goes on: Biden’s attempt to forgive student loans without Congressional approval, blatant abuses of power via the DOJ to target conservatives, and the docile response from Democrats in the face of his family’s financial gain from public office are all ringing alarm bells. The very party that once howled about “privilege” and “abuse” is now eerily silent when the tide turns in their favor. It’s almost as if these individuals are more invested in political theater than they are in actual principles.
The notion that Democrats suddenly find themselves shocked at the state of affairs is humorous, bordering on tragic. If only they had paid attention when their team was playing with fire, now they find themselves singed. The game has changed, and while they cry foul, they need only look in the mirror. Republicans may have abandoned traditional political niceties, but only because the left has lent a helping hand by rewriting the rules of engagement. If they’d kept their eyes open instead of burying their heads in the sand, perhaps they wouldn’t find themselves faced with such colossal shifts in power. Politics, after all, has a way of snapping back at those who think they can pull the strings without consequence.
