When did it become okay for politicians to act like they’re above the law? Democratic Congresswoman LaMonica McIver, along with her fellow liberal lawmakers, recently thought it was acceptable to storm an ICE detention facility as if they’re participating in some kind of childish game. The situation quickly escalated, and now McIver is doing a frantic media tour to deny the undeniable. If only everyday Americans could claim ignorance after allegedly shoving a federal agent.
The sheer audacity here is staggering. McIver, backed by her Democrat colleagues, insists she was simply performing her oversight duties. Really? Storming a federal facility alongside a mob doesn’t seem like proper congressional oversight. It seems more like an intimidating display of lawlessness than legitimate governance. The left’s repeated disregard for law enforcement is breathtaking.

And let’s not ignore the irony of the left accusing ICE of “creating” chaos. Seriously? It’s ICE’s fault that elected officials decided to trespass and potentially assault federal officers? The Democratic Party stays true to its mantra: blame everyone else for their failures. McIver and her friends are now labeling this bodycam footage as somehow “manufactured.” Classic. When you mess up, just accuse the other side of cheating. It’s the modern liberal way.
The Department of Homeland Security is currently weighing felony charges, but should this even be a question? If any regular American stormed an ICE facility, they’d have been hauled off in handcuffs without a second thought. Why should Congress members be any different? If these liberal hypocrites won’t respect the law, it’s about time the law comes knocking at their door.
Perhaps McIver and her fellow storm chasers should start planning their next reality TV appearance. It seems to suit them better than any serious legislative duties. If they can’t separate spectacle from seriousness, maybe it’s time for new representatives who value law and order over chaos and confusion. Is this really who Americans want running the country?
