It seems that after spending an entire year deriding conservative strategies and labeling them “fascist” and “the end of democracy,” they have opted to borrow the same playbook they once condemned. One might say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but in this case, it looks more like desperation donning a cheap disguise.
The team behind Project 2029, including familiar names like Neera Tanden and Jake Sullivan, is hardly a fresh crop of faces. Instead, they hail from the very administration that many Americans would rather forget—one that brought record inflation, and open borders, and was marred by the disaster of the Afghan withdrawal. The Democrats are reportedly preparing a new agenda that mimics the organizational format of Project 2025, complete with plans to turn their ideas into a book. Ironically, while they develop their “new” agenda, some Democratic strategists have shown an alarming willingness to embrace ideas lifted straight from conservative policy, such as eliminating taxes on tips. This blurring of lines raises a pressing question: is Project 2029 genuinely about fresh ideas, or merely an attempt at salvaging an outdated ethos?
