In a shocking development that might make one question just how far the Democrats will go to humiliate themselves, Frank Kendall, a relic from the Obama administration, decided to throw a tantrum over President Trump’s “rogue” presidency. Kendall, who served under the Obama regime before it got sent packing, has taken to The New York Times to express his distress over Trump’s military appointments, presumably without the self-awareness needed to realize he should have just settled into retirement quietly.
Kendall’s piece is reminiscent of someone walking into a bar in Boston, trying to convince a group of loyal Red Sox fans that the New York Yankees are the greatest team ever. It doesn’t matter how loud you shout or how hard you stomp your feet; loyalists aren’t swayed by the ramblings of a crying partisan. The fact that Kendall can’t find anything better to do than pen another whine-fest about Trump is sad. One might expect a former official to be sipping piña coladas on a beach somewhere instead of dredging up unoriginal grievances.

His article, provocatively titled “America Has a Rogue President,” is more a reflection of his misplaced angst than it is a serious critique. The Democrats might want to hold an emergency meeting to discuss how their go-to tactic of throwing around hyperbolic accusations is falling flat. The strategy of throwing a tantrum every time Trump takes a step forward was, at one point, effective. However, it’s now clear that such theatrics are generating more eye rolls than support.
Kendall’s tirade continues with claims of unfair treatment of military personnel in Trump’s administration. The irony is rich. This is the same crowd that had no qualms about cheering on bureaucrats who openly defied Trump’s orders in an attempt to “get him.” How can they be so shocked that loyalty is valued in leadership? That someone tasked with the impossible job of repositioning a dysfunctional nation would prefer working alongside loyal allies instead of looking over his shoulder for backstabbers? The sheer audacity of their indignation is almost laughable.
The accusation that Trump lacks respect for legal constraints showcases the Democrats’ ongoing desperation. They want to paint the president as a lawbreaker while turning a blind eye to their pattern of making every effort to drag him through the mud, regardless of the facts. Remarkably, they thought this strategy would yield favorable results. Meanwhile, polling suggests that the same Americans who they believe are appalled by Trump are, in fact, in favor of his administration’s efforts. Numerous polls indicate a strong backing for Trump’s policies on immigration, waste elimination, and merit-based hiring over progressive nonsense.
In essence, Kendall’s article is not so much a well-reasoned critique but more of a delusional lament from a disconnected elite. If he thinks that Trump supporters are hiding around corner stores anxiously waiting for a New York Times opinion piece to change their minds, he is in for a rude awakening. The truth is, while Kendall may still be stuck in the world of whining and self-importance usually reserved for misguided bureaucrats, Trump keeps forging ahead. It’s time for Kendall and his comrades to step off their soapbox and recognize that the game has changed—Americans have better things to worry about than their incessant drivel.
