Once again, Democrats in the Senate tried to put politics before national security—and thankfully, they failed. Their latest move? Pushing a so-called war powers resolution, desperate to snatch control away from President Trump when it comes to protecting Americans from threats like Iran. Rather than focusing on real solutions, their goal is simple: tie the hands of the commander-in-chief and score points with their radical base.
Let’s be honest, these Democrats never miss an opportunity to grandstand, even when it puts American lives at risk. They pretend they’re concerned about “peace,” but all they’re doing is sending a message to dangerous regimes that the United States is weak and divided. They want so badly for Trump to look bad that they’re willing to throw our country’s interests under the bus. Disgraceful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

The Senate shot down this reckless resolution 53-47. That’s a relief. If it had gone the other way, Iran’s mullahs would be popping champagne. The Democrats’ plan would have crippled the President’s authority to keep America safe, all to please their globalist pals and smug coastal elites. It’s like they forgot the president’s number one job is to defend the nation, not consult a room full of bureaucrats every time action is needed.
This isn’t just about President Trump. This is about sending a signal to our enemies that America means business and won’t let left-wing politicians dictate our security strategy from the safety of D.C. When Democrats try to chip away at the president’s power, they only help the bad guys. Iranian leaders are watching every move we make, so why hand them propaganda on a silver platter?
Once again, common sense—and America—win the day. The left can whine all they want, but thank God there are still enough senators with backbone to stand up to their anti-American nonsense. Does anyone really believe these Democrats care more about our troops than scoring a headline? Try again.
