It was another circus in Congress as Democrats went wild during a heated hearing with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Instead of doing his job, New York Congressman Gregory Meeks decided to throw a tantrum, shouting accusations and hurling insults like a playground bully. But what else is new? The left can’t stand it when they’re not in control, and their desperation is starting to show.
The whole thing kicked off when Meeks, clearly fishing for a scandal, tried to pin Bessent down over vague business ties involving President Trump’s family and foreign investors. In classic Democrat fashion, Meeks turned wild speculation into “national security concerns,” hoping to score a headline. But instead of letting Bessent actually answer the questions, Meeks kept cutting him off, demanding a “yes” or “no” like it was some kind of courtroom drama. When Bessent tried to respond with real answers, Meeks plugged his ears and accused him of refusing to “work for the American people.” The irony is almost too much.

And here’s where the hypocrisy really hits home. This is the same Gregory Meeks who has his own questionable history, like that mysterious trip to Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela years ago. Bessent called him out, and Meeks only got angrier. Maybe Democrats should look in the mirror before they scream about “foreign influence.” After all, while they rant about the Trump family, they have their own ties to shady international dealings, but the legacy media never seems to care.
Even committee chair French Hill couldn’t regain control as Meeks lost his cool, shouting at everyone in the room. Is this what passes for leadership on the left now? Throwing fits, yelling at witnesses, and turning every hearing into a political circus for viral soundbites? Meanwhile, the real needs of regular Americans—like inflation, the border crisis, and jobs—get shoved to the back of the line while Democrats hunt for their latest anti-Trump witch hunt.
It’s clear: the Democrats would rather tear down President Trump and his administration than do anything positive for the nation. Their shameless grandstanding on globalist talking points is embarrassingly obvious. Americans deserve leaders who get results, not liberal elites who use every hearing to boost their own egos. If shouting and slander is all the left has left, maybe they’re finally out of ideas.
