In a baffling move, an astonishing 150 House Democrats voted against a bill that aimed to deport illegal alien drunk drivers from the United States. This legislation, affectionately known as the “Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act,” would have made drunk driving grounds for ineligibility to be in the U.S. Can you believe it? It seems like the Democrats just want to keep endangering our communities by allowing these criminals to continue living among us.
Out of the 150 Democrats who turned their backs on this bill, only 59 brave souls had the courage to break ranks with their party and support the safety of American citizens. Thankfully, 215 House Republicans understood the importance of keeping our roads safe and voted in favor of the bill. It’s a shame that party loyalty seems to matter more than the lives and well-being of the American people.
Representative Barry Moore (R-AL) shared a heart-wrenching story on the House floor about a newlywed couple from his hometown who had their lives tragically cut short by an illegal immigrant drunk driver. This is just one example of the countless tragedies that occur across our country due to reckless illegal aliens. It’s time for Democrats to prioritize the safety and security of American citizens over their misguided agenda.
In another disappointing display, 155 House Democrats also voted against a bill that would have allowed ICE agents to promptly deport illegal aliens convicted of Social Security fraud against American citizens. It’s absolutely outrageous that so many Democrats are willing to turn a blind eye to the millions of cases where hardworking Americans have their identities stolen by illegal aliens. These criminals should be swiftly removed from our country, not protected by the very representatives who are supposed to be looking out for us.
Fortunately, 55 House Democrats did the right thing and joined 217 House Republicans in passing the bill. It’s a small victory, but it’s clear that there is still much work to be done to hold the Democrats accountable for their dangerous and misguided policies. American citizens deserve better than this. It’s time for Democrats to put aside their partisan games and start putting the safety and well-being of the American people first.
