The Democratic Party seems to be employing the classic political maneuver of diverting attention when faced with abysmal performance. Their strategy, especially when it comes to Vice President Kamala Harris, looks a lot like playing hot potato. Given the administration’s catastrophic record which includes soaring inflation, stagnant wages, a surge in crime, absolute chaos at the border, and a global stage on fire, it’s no wonder that the party is wary of putting Harris in the spotlight.
The fear among Democrats is palpable. With the economy sinking faster than a lead balloon, they know that putting Harris in a position of responsibility could make her the face of all these failures. Instead of having her directly confront issues like skyrocketing prices and pathetically low wage growth, they’d rather keep her on the sidelines. It’s a classic case of the party trying to keep its favorite punching bag away from the boxing ring, lest she gets knocked out by the sheer weight of their policy failures.

Instead of being the charismatic leader they sold to the American public, she’s being sidelined more than a benched player during a crucial game. It’s a clever tactic to preserve the party’s image, even if it’s at the expense of accountability.
Unsurprisingly, the Democrats are all about deflecting blame, and Harris has become the ultimate political liability. As inflation continues to eat away at the paychecks of hard-working Americans, the last thing the party wants is for Harris to take the reins and steer the ship of state into even murkier waters. It’s as if they’ve realized that Harris might not just be a rookie on the team but the one holding training wheels while the other players are ready to sprint.
The bottom line is clear: Democrats prefer Harris to be the invisible woman of the administration. With the current landscape littered with their own shortcomings, the party leaders are doing everything they can to avoid placing her front and center. As long as they can keep her in the shadows, they can continue to pretend that the nation is not spiraling out of control under their watch.
