President Trump’s recent speech to Congress was a masterclass in American exceptionalism, but the only people who seemed to have missed the memo were the Democrats, who sat there like grumpy toddlers refusing to eat their vegetables. As the Commander-in-Chief celebrated real achievements—things that would make any patriotic American puff out their chest with pride—the Democrats remained glued to their seats, proving once again that their disdain for the president eclipses any commitment to the country.
It was no secret that Democrats planned to turn the night into a showcase of their trademark sourness, but they somehow managed to lower the bar even further than anticipated. A recent survey revealed that a whopping 80% of viewers found Rep. Al Green’s antics to be utterly inappropriate, a number that suggests even his own party’s base thinks he should take a long, hard look at his life choices.
And while Green was hogging the spotlight with his melodrama, he wasn’t the only one on the Democratic side of the aisle who decided to skip the standard clap-o-meter for moments worth celebrating. When Trump announced the capture of ISIS mastermind Mohammad Sharifullah—responsible for the death of 13 American heroes—the Democrats chose to remain unresponsive, their silence like a cold blanket on a hot summer day.
When it comes to pro-American policies, it seems the left is allergic to applause. Trump made the case for lowering middle-class taxes and cutting the job-killing regulations that have become synonymous with the Democrat playbook. Yet, the response was crickets, especially when he touted the removal of taxes on tips—an idea the Dems might want to take credit for later to appease their base. Maybe they believe hard-working Americans are better served by financially starving the government instead?
In a moment that should have been a no-brainer, Democrats couldn’t even conjure up support for the death penalty for cop killers. They sat tight-lipped as Trump highlighted the need to rid our streets of murderous illegal aliens and proclaimed victory over drug cartels wreaking havoc in communities. The designation of the Tren de Aragua gang as a foreign terrorist organization fell on deaf ears, bringing a new meaning to a party that insists it cares about public safety but then acts as though it is allergic to law and order.
One of the evening’s most jaw-dropping moments was when Trump affirmed biological reality by celebrating only two sexes while defending women’s sports. Republicans erupted in applause, while the Democrats remained stoically silent, clearly unable to stomach the notion that America’s youth are perfect as they are—sans any radical ideologies. Their stony expressions were a telling signal that perhaps they prefer indulging in gender confusion over protecting children from harmful agendas.

Far from simply opposing the president’s policies, the Democrats displayed a petulance that suggests their priorities are skewed beyond comprehension. They couldn’t even celebrate bipartisan moments, choosing instead to sit on their hands rather than honor a young boy fighting brain cancer or the families mourning losses due to illegal alien violence. Watching them become spontaneously immobile was a sight more akin to a collective temper tantrum than a heartfelt tribute to the American spirit.
As Trump wrapped up, many on the left could be seen drifting out in protest—perhaps their only show of enthusiasm all night. This behavior starkly contrasted with the Republicans, who stood firm and proud for American values while the Democrats turned their backs on greatness. The American public is certainly watching this spectacle unfold, and they’re taking note: a party more concerned with resistance than with the well-being of the nation is hardly a party fit to lead.
