Election Day is right around the corner, and the Democrats are still stuck in their not-so-adorable time warp of attacking Trump supporters. With November 5th looming, you’d think they’d be gearing up for a serious campaign instead of tossing around juvenile insults. It seems they forgot that Joe Biden’s infamous “garbage” comment, made during a rally in response to a comedian’s ill-fated joke, blew up in their faces. That flub not only led to the cancellation of the comedian’s future campaign calls but also raised eyebrows about some shady doings within the White House involving doctored transcripts. When will they learn that this clown show just doesn’t play well outside their echo chambers?
The comedian in question, Tony Hinchcliffe, took a swing at Puerto Rico during his set but missed by a mile. It was hardly a comedy show to remember, and certainly not on par with his rib-tickling roast of Tom Brady. Yet, the reality is that he was joking, a concept that seems completely lost on the Democrats. Now, instead of owning up to the fallout from Biden’s comments, they’ve decided to double down and smear anyone with a differing opinion. New York Governor Kathy Hochul has jumped into the fray, asserting that a vote for Trump somehow equates to an affront to American values and femininity. Such grandstanding is less sophisticated than a schoolyard spat, painting dissenters as un-American traitors.
If being called garbage, Nazi’s, women are strong, deplorables wasn’t enough now @GovKathyHochul says Trump supporters who vote for him are unAmerican. Why do these ppl have to rely on insults and disparaging Trump supporters. https://t.co/B632KIfC2Z

This juvenile tactic is reminiscent of middle school debates, where the best argument often consists of declaring your opponent a “bad person.” Hochul’s rhetoric seems designed to keep Democrats in their comfort bubble, desperately hoping to create a bulkhead against the oncoming tsunami of Trump enthusiasm. What they fail to realize is that Americans have a basic aversion to being bossed around. Trying to label half the population as “anti-American” for their voting choices is not just misguided; it’s downright pathetic.
If Democrats were genuinely interested in bridging gaps and fostering dialogue, they’d be taking notes from the reality check that is this election cycle. Instead, they are demonstrating just how out-of-touch they are with middle America. The attempts to pander to their base by demonizing Trump supporters only serve to widen the divide. If the objective was to show that they might not look down on those with differing views, they have spectacularly missed the mark.
Ultimately, the Democratic Party’s continued failure to grasp the mood of the electorate is their own downfall, and their insults are falling flat. As the 2024 election arrives, it might be time for them to grow up and engage in some actual debate instead of flinging mud from their glass houses. What would really serve them well is for someone to hand them a copy of “Respectful Discourse 101,” because right now, they’re failing that course miserably.
