If anyone thinks locking up Americans on flimsy charges is a smart way to make the world want to invest, they must be dreaming. Venezuela just tossed a U.S. citizen in jail, and the left barely bats an eye. It’s not hard to see why the globalists and their media pals ignore victories for freedom whenever it doesn’t fit their tired narrative. This is what happens when weak leadership lets foreign tyrants call the shots.
President Trump and Senator Marco Rubio have spent weeks racking up wins in Venezuela, showing real backbone where it matters. While the liberal elite gush over “diplomacy” and “soft power,” these two have gotten results. Instead of appeasement, they back real pressure and clear support for the Venezuelan people. You wouldn’t know any of this if you only listened to the mainstream press—they’d rather talk about anything else.
Reporter: On Venezuela, Rodriguez last week said that Nicolas Maduro is still a legitimate president and is innocent
Trump: She probably has to say that. I think politically she has to say that. She’s doing a very good job. pic.twitter.com/udcrU5USPe

But let’s be honest. No serious investor—no rational business leader—wants to put money into a country that thinks Americans are bargaining chips. Democrats spin their “compassion” speeches at home, but never lift a finger when regimes go after innocent U.S. citizens abroad. They’re furious when Trump takes action, but silent when actual lives are threatened. That’s called hypocrisy, plain and simple.
And while the left cries about offending Maduro, he has no problem offending American values. He thinks he can push us around, jail our people, and still rake in cash from global companies. Only a fool or a Democrat would think that works in the real world. Freedom wins markets, not thug rule or political theater.
Here’s a question the elites never answer: When will they admit that standing up to dictators does more than just “make waves”—it protects Americans, and it’s the only moral path forward? Until liberals learn that, expect despots like Maduro to keep laughing—and investors to keep their wallets closed.
