The Senate has once again proven that when it comes to border security, the Democrats just don’t care. In a narrow 49-50 vote, they shot down a bill that would have provided foreign military aid while incorporating a so-called border security package. It’s no surprise that the establishment Republicans who cower to the left also supported this weak-jawed attempt at addressing our nation’s sovereign border.
Folks, the RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) were out in full force, with Senator Susan Collins of Maine, Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Senator Mitt Romney of Utah, and Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma all throwing their weight behind this woeful bill. These politicians would rather play nice with the Democrats than actually stand up for the American people. And don’t even get started on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. He opposed the bill, but let’s be real, his spine is about as sturdy as a wet noodle.

The bill’s opponents had the audacity to claim they were looking out for the American people, but their actions suggest otherwise. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas hit the nail on the head when he called out this bill for what it really is – a disaster. Not only did it fail to address the border crisis, but it also handed Joe Biden and his cronies a free pass to keep the floodgates open for illegal immigrants. If this bill had passed, it would have been a slap in the face to every hardworking American who wants to see our borders secured.
Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri summed it up perfectly when he described the last three months leading up to this vote as a total disaster. It’s clear that the Democrats and their Republican lackeys have no real interest in solving the crisis at our border. They’d rather keep the status quo and leave American citizens to deal with the fallout.
And let’s not forget the shameless add-ons to this bill. A whopping $10 billion was earmarked for victims of global crises, including Palestinians. It’s sickening to see our tax dollars being shipped overseas while our own country grapples with an influx of illegal immigrants.
Thankfully, there are still champions of the American people in the Senate, like Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina, who promised that a vote on military aid alone would soon follow. That’s the kind of leadership we need – someone who prioritizes our national security and the well-being of American citizens.
In the end, the Democrats and their spineless Republican enablers were once again exposed for their lack of commitment to securing our borders. It’s time for voters to remember this betrayal come election season. The American people deserve leaders who will put their interests first, not pander to the globalist elites. Let’s make sure we hold these swamp creatures accountable and ensure that the next batch of senators actually has a backbone. The future of our nation depends on it.
