However, many see it quite differently, recognizing the agents’ hard work in securing and defending the nation’s borders.
Critics, particularly from leftist circles, sometimes liken agents to a kind of “Gestapo,” claiming they’re hunting down innocent immigrants. However, supporters of ICE and border enforcement argue that these agents are simply doing their jobs and enforcing laws that have existed for decades. It’s highlighted that both Democrats and Republicans have historically backed various immigration laws. Many may scratch their heads, wondering where this sudden opposition to enforcement has come from, considering former leaders like Barack Obama and Bill Clinton once championed border security.
