In a recent statement, Sen. Richard Blumenthal was quoted as saying that Justice Sonia Sotomayor should “weigh the competing factors.” This is just another example of the Democrats trying to meddle in the affairs of the Supreme Court. It’s clear that Sen. Blumenthal is trying to pressure Justice Sotomayor into making decisions based on political calculations rather than the Constitution.
It’s no surprise that Sen. Blumenthal is pushing for this kind of intervention, as Democrats have a long history of trying to stack the courts with their preferred judges who will push their liberal agenda. It’s a shame that they can’t respect the independence of the judicial branch and let the justices make their decisions based on the law.
It’s important for Justice Sotomayor to remain impartial and not succumb to the political pressure being put on her by Sen. Blumenthal and others on the left. The American people deserve a Supreme Court that upholds the Constitution and the rule of law, not one that bends to the will of politicians.
Sen. Blumenthal’s comments are just another example of the Democrat’s political gamesmanship when it comes to the Supreme Court. Justice Sotomayor should continue to make her decisions based on the law, not the whims of politicians like Sen. Blumenthal.
