In a surprising turn of events, five House Democrats have decided to target Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. What could possibly be their issue with him? Well, according to a report from the left-leaning news outlet ProPublica, they are accusing him of going on expensive vacations with a Republican mega donor. Seriously? This is what they’re wasting their time on? It seems like the Democrats will jump at any opportunity to smear a conservative.

ProPublica’s report claims that Justice Thomas has been secretly benefiting from wealthy patrons, including taking extravagant vacations and enjoying VIP treatment at sporting events. Oh, the horror! Is it really a crime to have friends who are successful and want to treat you to a nice vacation? I guess in the eyes of the Democrats, it is.
Thomas once complained that he sacrificed wealth to sit on the Supreme Court, though he depicted the choice as a matter of conscience.

Of course, these Democrats, including Jerrold Nadler, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Ted Lieu, are calling on Attorney General Merrick Garland to launch an investigation into Justice Thomas. Because apparently, there’s nothing more important going on in the world right now. Forget about the border crisis or inflation, let’s focus on a Supreme Court Justice’s vacation choices!
The Democrats claim that Justice Thomas failed to report these so-called “significant gifts” in violation of federal law. But Justice Thomas has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, stating that he sought guidance from his colleagues and was advised that personal hospitality from friends did not need to be reported. He has always followed the disclosure guidelines and maintained his integrity. But who needs facts and due process when you can make baseless accusations for political gain?
It’s clear that this is just another attempt by Democrats to tarnish the reputation of a conservative Justice. They can’t stand the fact that someone like Justice Thomas, who upholds the Constitution and embraces conservative values, is on the Supreme Court. So instead of engaging in productive discussions and finding common ground, they resort to smear campaigns and character assassinations.
We must not let this witch hunt distract us from the real issues at hand. We need to focus on protecting our borders, getting our economy back on track, and preserving our constitutional rights. Justice Thomas has been a stalwart defender of the Constitution, and it’s a shame that the Democrats are trying to tear him down simply because they disagree with his conservative beliefs. This is politics at its worst, and the American people deserve better.
