In a surprising turn of events, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has taken aim at Washington D.C., specifically President Biden, for the skyrocketing inflation that our country is currently facing. Despite initially being seen as a potential challenger to former President Trump in the 2024 race, DeSantis seems to have stumbled in the polls and is now seemingly grasping at straws to regain his footing.

DeSantis criticized the reckless spending habits of those in Washington, stating that they are “shutting down the American dream” with their irresponsible behavior. He pointed out that they have been borrowing, printing money, and spending frivolously, which has directly resulted in the increased prices that American citizens are now paying for everything.

DeSantis gave Biden a free pass on inflation and blamed it on Trump

Surprisingly, Governor DeSantis didn’t stop there. He shifted the blame onto both President Biden and former President Trump, stating that Biden is “completely missing in action” when it comes to addressing the inflation problem, and that Trump is also absent when he should be defending his record. DeSantis went on to claim that Trump’s administration had contributed to the inflation issue by adding a staggering $7.8 trillion to the national debt.
Naturally, President Biden’s abysmal grades for his handling of the economy and the inflation issue have left his administration scrambling for a way to shift the blame elsewhere. They quickly seized the opportunity to praise DeSantis for pointing the finger at Trump, with a post on Biden’s personal social media account echoing DeSantis’ remarks. It’s no surprise that this administration is more interested in deflecting blame than taking responsibility for the problems they’ve created.
However, not everyone is buying into this orchestrated blame game. Conservative commentators and social media users expressed their disappointment with DeSantis’ statement, accusing him of carrying water for Biden and giving the Biden Administration an easy victory. It’s clear that DeSantis missed the mark on this one, and his desperate attempt to gain favor among voters has only backfired.
It’s important to note that President Biden’s handling of inflation has been widely criticized, with a mere 35 percent of respondents in a recent Harvard/CAPS Harris poll expressing approval of his approach. This just goes to show that the American people are not blind to the detrimental effects of the Biden administration’s policies and their failure to address the pressing issues facing our country.
In conclusion, Governor DeSantis’ attempt to shift blame for inflation onto both President Biden and former President Trump is simply a desperate ploy to regain favor and distract from his own diminishing popularity. It’s disappointing to see a potential Republican contender aligning himself with the Biden administration, effectively giving them a free pass on the disastrous consequences of their actions.
