Governor Ron DeSantis is not holding back in his criticism of President Biden’s decision to send $100 million in humanitarian aid to the Hamas controlled Gaza Strip. He is not impressed with the idea of giving money to a terrorist organization while they still hold Americans and Israelis hostage. It seems like common sense to not fund the enemy, but maybe that’s just the logic of a conservative mind.
The aid was announced during Biden’s trip to Israel on Wednesday, and the White House released a statement saying that the funding would be used to support over a million displaced and conflict-affected people with clean water, food, hygiene support, medical care, and other essential needs. But here’s the thing, Hamas has a history of stealing aid and using it as leverage. They even shamelessly used first aid kits from the United Nations during their horrific slaughter of innocent Israeli citizens. It’s like giving money to a bully and hoping they’ll use it for good. Does that ever actually work?

Governor DeSantis is right to be skeptical of this decision. It’s not like the United States is short on its own problems and needs. Why are we sending money overseas to a terrorist organization while our own citizens struggle to make ends meet? It just doesn’t make sense. But then again, sense and logic don’t always seem to be a priority for the Biden administration.
