In a recent radio interview, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a prominent conservative figure, voiced concerns about former President Donald Trump’s potential obstacles in the 2024 election cycle. Just after dropping out of the presidential race and throwing his support behind Trump, DeSantis expressed unease about Republican voters’ enthusiasm and raised red flags about some long-time conservatives hesitating to vote for Trump again. He warned that these issues must be addressed if Trump wants a shot at winning the 2024 election.
DeSantis, who did not join Trump for any post-campaign events in New Hampshire, opted instead to return to his responsibilities in Florida. Furthermore, he shut down a proposed Florida bill that would have allocated up to $5 million in taxpayer dollars to cover Trump’s legal fees, making it clear that he would not support such a measure. Shortly thereafter, State Sen. Ileana Garcia withdrew the bill, effectively putting an end to the unwelcome proposal.

When Trump was asked about the rift between him and DeSantis during the campaign, he claimed to be “a very forgiving person” and declined to comment on the possibility of DeSantis being considered as a running mate.
