Republicans are fed up with the nonsense coming from the Department of Justice and are taking a stand for their pro-life constituents who are being unjustly targeted. A peaceful protest outside a Tennessee abortion facility has resulted in the conviction of six pro-life activists for “conspiracy against rights” and violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. These activists, which include a Christian father of 11 and a 73-year-old man, now face up to 11 years in prison for simply exercising their First Amendment right to peacefully demonstrate.
Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) is not having it and has introduced the FACE Act Repeal Act (H.R. 5577) to put an end to this ridiculousness once and for all. The bill seeks to abolish the easily abused FACE Act, which has been weaponized by Biden’s Department of Justice to persecute law-abiding pro-life citizens.
The FACE Act is unconstitutional violation of the First Amendment.

In a series of disturbing incidents, pro-life leaders were subjected to FBI raids and arrest, with one activist being handcuffed in front of his children before school drop-off. This heavy-handed response is a clear attempt to intimidate and silence those who hold pro-life beliefs. The Biden administration’s selective enforcement of the FACE Act is blatant discrimination, as they turn a blind eye to criminal acts against pregnancy centers and religious institutions.
Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) has also joined the fight to repeal the FACE Act, highlighting the DOJ’s lopsided application of the law. Despite an increase in threats and violence against pro-life groups, the DOJ has targeted pro-life activists over their pro-abortion counterparts. This is a blatant violation of their First Amendment rights and a clear abuse of federal power.
The DOJ’s admission that their urgency to enforce the FACE Act increased after the end of Roe v. Wade is a troubling indication of their biased agenda. Only a handful of pro-abortion activists have been arrested for attacks on pregnancy centers, while pro-life activists are prosecuted for peaceful protests during the day. This imbalance in enforcement proves that the FACE Act is being utilized as a political weapon against those with pro-life beliefs.
It’s time for the Biden administration to stop playing favorites and start upholding the rights of all Americans, regardless of their beliefs. The FACE Act must be repealed to safeguard the constitutional rights of pro-life citizens who are being unfairly targeted by the DOJ’s discriminatory actions. This biased enforcement goes against the fundamental principles of our democracy and must be put to a stop.
Everyone should keep a close eye on these legislative efforts as they progress and continue to hold the Biden administration accountable for their unjust actions against pro-life individuals.
