Educators Who Shouldn’t Be Teaching

In the age of transparency and accountability, it's alarming to see some teachers adopting a clandestine approach to their curriculum. Parents send their kids to school with the expectation that they will be taught in a manner that aligns with the values and principles of the family. However, a disturbing trend is emerging where some educators are actively hiding what they're teaching from parents. This secretive behavior is not only unethical but also detrimental to the trust that forms the foundation of the educational system.

The role of a teacher is to educate, not indoctrinate. When educators deliberately withhold information about the curriculum, it raises serious questions about their intentions. What are they teaching that they feel needs to be hidden? Is it controversial social theories, biased historical perspectives, or inappropriate content that doesn't belong in a classroom setting? Whatever the reason, parents have the right to know and the right to object.

This lack of transparency undermines parental authority and disrupts the partnership that should exist between parents and educators. Schools are not babysitting services; they are institutions that should reflect and reinforce the values taught at home. When teachers go rogue, they are essentially telling parents that their input and involvement are not welcome.

Moreover, hiding curriculum details can create a toxic environment for students. They may feel confused or conflicted when presented with ideas that starkly contrast with what they have been taught at home. This can lead to a breakdown in communication between parents and children, creating an unnecessary rift within families.

It’s time for school boards and administrators to step up and enforce strict policies that promote transparency. Teachers who refuse to disclose their curriculum should face consequences, up to and including dismissal. The classroom is a place for open dialogue, mutual respect, and trust. Any educator who can't operate within these parameters has no place in the classroom.
