The Arizona Republican Party has a new leader, and she has quite the support behind her. Gina Swoboda was elected as the new Chairwoman after receiving a massive level of support, including former President Donald Trump and U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake. This victory was celebrated by Lake, who took to social media to proclaim it as a “MASSIVE victory” for Swoboda.

According to Lake, Arizona Republicans voted overwhelmingly to make Swoboda their new leader, recognizing her as a national leader in election law and a grassroots hero. Lake also emphasized Swoboda’s battle-tested nature and great integrity, stating that she is the right person to lead the party going into the most important election in Arizona history. It’s no wonder that both Trump and Lake proudly endorsed Swoboda. They are looking forward to restoring Arizona’s faith in elections and winning big in 2024.
Swoboda’s support goes beyond just Trump and Lake. Republican Reps. Eli Crane and Andy Biggs of Arizona, as well as Charlie Kirk of Turning Point Action, have also thrown their support behind her. Conservative activist Merissa Hamilton praised Swoboda’s leadership experience, seeing her as the stability that the party needs to move forward.
Swoboda’s election came after the resignation of former chair Jeff DeWit, who stepped down amid a scandal. DeWit was caught in an audio recording encouraging Kari Lake not to run for U.S. Senate. DeWit claimed he was set up, but Lake’s campaign advisers refuted his allegations, stating that the recording clearly showed DeWit’s attempts to bribe her.
As the Arizona Republican Party moves forward, the focus is on bouncing back from this recent turmoil and finding unity within the party. Arizona Speaker of the House Ben Toma stressed the importance of unity, stating that it will make a big difference in the general election. With Swoboda at the helm, the party is hopeful for a successful future and a strong showing in 2024.
