In a classic case of media bias, multiple outlets buried the fact that an accuser of the late Jeffrey Epstein had retracted her allegations against former President Donald Trump. The media ran with the story that Trump had been named in the latest Epstein documents, conveniently leaving out the crucial detail that the accuser had already retracted her claims back in 2019.
Court documents from Monday included emails from victim Sarah Ransome to the New York Post, in which she suggested the existence of Epstein-related sex tapes involving several prominent people, including Trump, Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and Richard Branson. However, when asked to provide the tapes, Ransome came up empty-handed, and no evidence of such footage has ever been found.

But the media didn’t seem to care about those inconvenient facts. They ran with the old, retracted news, burying the fact that Ransome’s claims were already discredited years ago. It took four paragraphs for the Daily Mail to even mention Ransome’s retractions, and the New York Post was just as guilty.
It’s clear that the media has an agenda, and it involves perpetuating negative narratives about Trump, even if they’re based on false information. The fact that Ransome admitted to inventing the tapes to draw attention to Epstein’s behavior should have been the main focus of these stories. But instead, it was swept under the rug to fit the media’s narrative.
This is just another example of how the mainstream media is more interested in pushing an agenda than reporting the truth. Thankfully, there are still journalists like Vicky Ward who are willing to dig deeper and provide a more nuanced perspective. As she points out, this story is complicated, and the motivations of witnesses and victims can be complex. It’s irresponsible for the media to ignore these complexities and prioritize salacious headlines over the facts.
