A political advocacy group with ties to left-wing dark money organizations has been caught red-handed trying to boost Nikki Haley’s campaign ahead of the New Hampshire primary. Defending Democracy Together (DDT), co-founded by Bill Kristol, a former Republican turned Trump critic, spent over $56,000 on ads, mailers, and phone calls in support of Haley, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings. But don’t be fooled by their claims of “defending democracy”—this organization is just another arm of the liberal establishment trying to influence the outcome of the election.

DDT has received funding from dark money groups like Arabella Advisors, which have a long history of backing leftist causes and Democratic get-out-the-vote operations. These organizations pump millions of dollars into supporting Democrats and left-wing groups, and now they’re trying to prop up Haley as a so-called “palatable alternative” to Trump. It’s clear that they see her as a threat to their radical agenda and are desperate to stop her from gaining momentum in the race.
But despite their best efforts, Haley is gaining ground in the Republican primary race. She has surpassed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the polls and is only 13.2 points behind Trump in New Hampshire, according to FiveThirtyEight. Her appeal in educated, white-collar suburbs is resonating with voters, and she’s not afraid to spend big on ads targeting New Hampshire voters. This is exactly the kind of energy and enthusiasm the Republican Party needs to win back the White House in 2024.
While the Haley campaign has distanced itself from DDT, it’s clear that these dark money groups are trying to shape the outcome of the primary. They have a long history of funding left-wing causes and activism, and now they’re trying to meddle in the Republican race. It’s time for conservatives to stand up against these liberal billionaires and their attempts to control our elections.
It’s also worth noting the support Haley has received from traditionally liberal or Democratic donors. Billionaire Reid Hoffman, one of the Democratic Party’s largest donors, gave $250,000 to a pro-Haley super PAC. Clearly, these liberal elites see something in Haley that they find appealing. They recognize that she’s a strong, principled leader who can unite the Republican Party and challenge the radical left.
In the face of this coordinated effort by dark money groups and liberal billionaires, it’s important for conservatives to rally behind Nikki Haley. She represents a fresh, conservative voice in the Republican Party and has a track record of successful leadership as the former governor of South Carolina. Let’s not let the liberal establishment dictate the outcome of the primary—let’s support the candidate who will fight for our values and defend our democracy.
