In a chilling echo of totalitarian tactics, far-left extremists in Michigan have taken to intimidating University of Michigan Board of Regents members by showing up unannounced at their homes, even in the early hours of the morning. Masked individuals have been reported arriving at regents’ homes before dawn to demand the adoption of Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) policies, a move reminiscent of tactics used to instill fear and catch targets off guard.

It’s concerning to see these radical elements resort to such extreme measures in an attempt to push their agenda. The targeted regents, like Jordan Acker, have spoken out against these aggressive actions, noting that the intimidating conduct is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. Such behavior, especially when it involves showing up at private residences with demands, crosses a dangerous line and threatens the safety and peace of mind of public officials and their families.
The leftists went even further at the home of another regent, Sarah Hubbard, where they not only disrupted the peace by erecting tents and staging a disturbing scene with fake corpses but also used disruptive tactics such as bullhorns and chants. Instead of engaging in civil discourse or respecting boundaries, these activists opted for aggressive and alarming behavior, showing a blatant disregard for the well-being of those they targeted.
It’s clear that these escalating protests pose a significant risk and create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. The University of Michigan rightly noted that such actions are not only disruptive but also illegal, as they involve trespassing onto private property. It’s essential for authorities to take a firm stance against these tactics and ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
We must condemn these radical tactics and stand in support of individuals’ rights to express differing views without fear of reprisal or intimidation. The use of force and aggression to push a political agenda is never justified and only serves to undermine the principles of democracy and civil discourse. We must call out these actions for what they are – a dangerous attempt to silence dissent and impose ideological conformity through fear and coercion.
