The long-awaited arrest of the January 6 pipe bomb suspect is a classic case of “better late than never.” Finally, after years of bumbling and fumbling, the FBI managed to nab a man responsible for planting explosive devices near the Republican and Democratic National Committee headquarters. It’s puzzling that it took them this long, but given their track record, who’s really surprised?
For two years, as America watched in disbelief, the investigation seemed to go nowhere. The most significant information revealed was a vague description of the suspect’s height. For crying out loud, the FBI had video evidence and only came up with a height report? It’s hard not to wonder if this delay was just another episode in D.C.’s drama of incompetence and bureaucracy.

To add fuel to the fire, baseless rumors circulated, finger-pointing at a female Capitol Police officer as a potential culprit. Talk about a narrative that satisfies the agenda over truth! Unsurprisingly, this baseless story fell apart faster than a house of cards. Once again, mainstream narratives showed how quick they are to jump to conclusions when it fits their narrative.
The sheer incompetence surrounding this case reeks of something bigger. It’s almost as if the culture of blame shifting and lack of accountability has permeated every level of investigation and intelligence. When will the elites be held to the same standards expected of everyday Americans? Or is accountability only for those who dare challenge the status quo?
Finally, with the suspect in custody, the focus should pivot to holding those responsible for such investigative blunders accountable. But in the realm of D.C. politics, that seems as elusive as it gets. Will common sense and justice ever return to the political stage, or will it remain lost in the swamp of agenda-driven incompetence?
