Is anyone surprised? The left’s hostility is becoming a dangerous game, and Luna is clearly on the front lines.
Luna, who is no stranger to the divisive political climate, reported that her office received a “very serious shooting threat,” urging supporters to pray during this turbulent time. The congresswoman did not shy away from pointing fingers, laying the blame squarely at the feet of the left’s relentless attacks that characterize Trump and his supporters as the real threats to democracy. Somehow, after all the vitriol directed at conservatives, including public calls for violence, the left wants to play the victim. The irony is almost comical.

She expressed that she won’t be cowed by threats or intimidation tactics from those resorting to violence as a means to impose their agenda. It’s interesting to note that while leftist activists frequently accuse conservatives of inciting violence, they’re the ones who actually deliver the threats. It seems they can dish it out, but they definitely can’t take it.
The specifics of the situation paint a grim picture. The threat directed at Luna came mere hours after a gunman attempted to shoot Trump at his golf course. The timing raises eyebrows. Local police confirmed that a threatening e-mail was sent to St. Petersburg College, with content hinting at Luna, though her name wasn’t explicitly mentioned. Meanwhile, the St. Petersburg Police have been busy, having dispatched patrols to Luna’s neighborhood after disturbing comments surfaced about her made by a neighbor on social media. It’s like a Barry Manilow song: one threat after another, and the left can’t seem to find a way to harmonize without a little treble.
Most troubling is Luna’s assertion that the inflammatory rhetoric from her Democratic opponent, Whitney Fox, is adding fuel to the fire of these threats against her and her family. In a climate where political violence is regrettably escalating, Fox’s dismissive attitude towards Luna’s claims reveals a blatant disregard for the safety of those she opposes politically. While Fox condemns political violence in one breath, she labels Luna a threat to democracy in another—hypocrisy at its finest.
As Luna fights against a backdrop of escalating threats, it’s baffling how some Democrats, including big names like Hillary Clinton, continue to fan the flames with their incendiary language. With Trump becoming a target twice in one month, one has to wonder: when will the left realize that their name-calling has real-world consequences?
