A six-term Democratic lawmaker has decided to jump off the sinking ship of his party, expressing a surprising belief that putting Donald Trump back in the Oval Office could actually make the world a safer place. Former Florida Representative Peter Deutsch, a self-identified Jewish American Democrat, has gone rogue on his party, particularly as Americans reflect on the devastating October 7 Hamas attack that sent shockwaves through the Middle East.
On the date marking the anniversary of that horrific attack, Deutsch announced he would not be supporting the Democratic ticket in the upcoming election. Instead, he threw his endorsement behind Trump during a press call. He pointed to the Harris-Biden administration’s blunders and policies regarding Iran as contributors to global instability, declaring the current administration’s approach “dramatically less safe.”

In the year since Hamas’s deadly attack that left over a thousand civilians dead, tensions have continued to rise in the Middle East, not unlike the intensity of a group of socialists trying to get their hands on a new government-funded venture. Deutsch believes that another Trump term in office could restore some much-needed stability in the region. He insisted that Trump represents a clear choice for anyone interested in preserving world peace—something the current administration seems to be forgetting amid their scramble to placate every global adversary.
Deutsch joins a growing list of current and former Democrats, including the likes of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard, who have finally realized that a firm hand is better for America than the flailing approach currently being served up. Many of these individuals see Trump’s foreign policy track record as a significant reason to support him—a path that has proven less about starting wars and more about maintaining peace through strength. Gabbard even remarked on Trump’s ability to de-escalate potential conflicts, a talent that seems to elude the current administration.
As Trump continues to paint the contrast between his policies and those of Kamala Harris, he’s not holding back from criticizing her administration’s decisions that have emboldened Iran and allowed terror to flourish in the region. While Harris insists that she has always supported Israel, her actions tell a different story, particularly in light of the billions unfrozen and sent to Iran. The stark contrast could not be more evident: one candidate’s policies lead to terror, whereas another’s led to true diplomatic progress, such as the Abraham Accords.
