She ultimately voted for Rep. Kay Granger of Texas, citing Granger’s “great leadership.” Miller-Meeks emphasized the need for a consensus candidate who can effectively work on appropriations and counter the policies of the Biden administration. In a similar vein, Rep. Don Bacon’s wife also received anonymous messages and calls urging her to convince her husband to support Jordan. The speaker position remains vacant, and the next vote is set for Thursday
