Republican Rep. Joe Wilson hits the nail on the head by underscoring the grave threats posed by the Xi Jinping-led regime in China. The global security risks, endangerment of our allies, and the oppressive nature of the CCP must be met with unwavering resolve. By supporting this legislation, Wilson demonstrates a clear commitment to countering the CCP’s harmful impact on our education system and economy. Kudos to him for standing strong against this formidable adversary.
One particularly noteworthy aspect of the bill is the call for sanctions on Chinese officials and entities until drug overdoses and deaths decrease by a staggering 98%. With over 100,000 Americans losing their lives to overdoses in 2021, it’s high time we hold the CCP accountable for the devastation caused by their illicit activities. This aggressive approach sends a strong message that America will not tolerate such destructive behavior, especially when it comes at the cost of innocent lives.
In a smart move to protect national security interests, the legislation also takes aim at Chinese-made electric-vehicle batteries. Prohibiting their use on military bases and the purchase of Chinese electric vehicles or components with federal funds showcases a proactive stance in safeguarding sensitive infrastructure from potential risks. It’s heartening to see measures being taken to ensure that America’s defense capabilities are not compromised by reliance on products that could pose security threats. This is a prime example of prioritizing American safety and economic security above all else.
