The trio took center stage with an impromptu press conference on the courthouse steps, just ahead of the oral arguments in Trump’s appeal of a Colorado Supreme Court decision that ousted him from the state’s primary ballot.
Senator Tuberville, the mastermind behind the gathering of esteemed senators, declared it “a historic day” for the nation. “We’re here today to stand up for democracy. I never thought I’d see this,” Tuberville declared with passion. “We stand here for the right to vote and for our Constitution. This should not be a partisan issue. This is an American issue, what a thought, but our Democratic colleagues have made this very, very partisan.”
