Sen. Bill Hagerty was not shy about speaking his mind on Sunday, calling out the Biden administration for its “mixed messages” towards Israel. The Tennessee Republican, appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” pointed to the confusing signals being sent to Israel, with talk of cease-fires and humanitarian aid for Gaza paired with potential conditions on the aid.

Hagerty also took aim at President Biden’s handling of Iran, a notorious sponsor of terrorism that has been funneling money to Hamas. According to the senator, the administration’s inconsistent approach has allowed Iran to bolster Hamas and other militant groups with the weapons they need to create chaos in the region.
While Congress is mulling over a hefty $110 billion national security package, which includes a chunky $14.3 billion for Israel to combat Hamas, the administration and others have started wagging their fingers at Israel for the civilian casualties in Gaza.
Hagerty didn’t hold back in his criticism, making it clear that in his opinion, the Biden administration’s approach to the situation in the Middle East is about as clear as mud. It’s a tangled web of mixed messages, finger-pointing, and seemingly contradictory actions that, according to the senator, are only serving to make things worse.
