House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is facing the music, and it’s a melody of his own making. When you’re on CNBC, a typically left-leaning platform, and even they can see the writing on the wall, you know you’re in trouble. It’s about time Democrats get called out for pulling the wool over the eyes of the American people, hijacking the government, and holding it hostage, all to give illegal aliens taxpayer-funded healthcare. The nerve!
One must wonder, how does Jeffries sleep at night? Shutting down the government because he’s throwing a tantrum about not getting his way. Imagine the chaos that would ensue if the shoe were on the other foot. If Republicans tried a similar stunt with, say, any of the wasteful spending or harebrained schemes of the Biden administration, the media and Democrats would be losing their ever-loving minds. But, as always, what’s good for the goose isn’t good for the gander with these folks.
Hakeem Jeffries just got wrecked on CNBC.
You don’t get to shut down the government because you don’t like the outcome of an election. That’s not leadership—that’s a tantrum.pic.twitter.com/Svg7BkZEfP

The hypocrisy here is glaring. Jeffries was put on the spot, and he squirmed, as he should. He’s trying to backpedal his outrageous decisions with tired rhetoric about bipartisan negotiations. It would be almost comical if it weren’t so absurdly shameless. The Republican-controlled House and Senate have already done their jobs and passed legislation. The idea that Republicans are the ones eager to keep the government closed is laughable. A simple projection from a party that has made victimhood an art form.
Let’s not sugarcoat this — Americans are not being deprived of healthcare. What’s at stake is funneling our hard-earned taxpayer dollars into benefits for people who broke the law to enter this country. People want a policy that serves American citizens first. The spin that Republicans are the bad guys is just another liberal fantasy, and thankfully, it’s not one that most Americans are buying. When nearly half of likely voters believe Dems are catering to illegal aliens at the expense of the country’s functioning, it speaks volumes.
The thing is, people are tired of this circus. They want leaders who govern for the people and not for those trying to cut the immigration line. Jeffries should take a cue from his CNBC grilling and ask himself who he’s really serving. Because right now, it sure doesn’t look like it’s the citizens of the United States. Why should our wallets bear the burden for the reckless generosity of Democrats?
