Donald Trump, who has long been the proverbial adult in the room, made it loud and clear before he took office that there would be consequences if Hamas didn’t play by the rules. Now it appears Hamas is daring not just Trump, but also the U.S. and Israel, to respond. Spoiler alert: The time for talk is over.
According to the terms of the agreement, Hamas was supposed to return hostages and the remains of those they had abducted and murdered. However, the latest developments reveal that not only did they not fulfill their end of the bargain, but they also had the audacity to murder two children in the process. And what’s more, the bodies returned by Hamas do not include that of Shiri Bibas, the boys’ mother—a stark reminder of the horrors of terrorism and how low Hamas is willing to stoop.

There is no room left for half-measures or appeasement. It’s clear that Hamas is not a legitimate organization that can be reasoned with, nor should they be treated as such.
