Harris Campaign Attacks Trump and Musk as Out-of-Touch Billionaires

The Harris campaign has taken a bold approach by throwing shade at Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump, labeling them as “self-obsessed rich guys” during a recent interview that managed to combine technical difficulties and Trump’s signature bravado. It seems they are bent on portraying the duo as the poster boys for everything wrong with America—two billionaires chatting it up while the working class suffers.

The campaign had a field day dunking on Trump’s “extremism” and what they call his “dangerous Project 2025 agenda,” which they claim is a central feature of his campaign. According to them, Trump’s nonchalant attitude during the interview was a disaster that nobody shouldn’t want to watch, as they insinuated that a couple of rich guys were more interested in looking good than looking out for the average Joe. It’s almost as if they want to create a sense of urgency over a live stream instead of discussing real issues that affect American families.

Technical issues were the opening act for this circus, as the interview started a good 45 minutes late. But who needs punctuality when you’re on a mission to entertain the masses—or confirm the worst fears of the liberal establishment? No shortage of irony here. While Trump is taking shots at climate change, claiming he’s totally fine with it because he envisions owning even more oceanfront property, Harris and crew were cringing at every jab. They might want to consider that the average American isn’t too bothered by someone with a little entrepreneurial spirit.

In addition to ribbing Trump over climate change, which probably struck a nerve with the climate alarmists, the Harris campaign attempted to roast Trump for praising Musk’s decision to fire workers who were striking for better pay. Clearly, in the left-leaning playbook, standing up for the worker means ensuring they’re likely to remain unproductive while throwing tantrums for more money. It’s hard to sell a narrative of ‘workers’ rights’ when the guy making the decisions is actually trying to make his operations run effectively.

And let’s not forget the grand finale of the interview: Trump discussing the need to shut down the Department of Education. The Harris campaign likely had an aneurysm at this point, as they realize that to most conservatives, disbanding a bloated federal department is akin to lighting a bonfire in a hay-filled barn. Meanwhile, those who actually produce value in society—like Musk—are getting praised for doing what the government should have done long ago: trimming the fat.

This interview was Trump’s return to X, a platform that he has largely abandoned for his social media, Truth Social. However, the relationship between Trump and Musk is indeed friendly, leading to co-ops being more unpredictable than the stock market. Regardless of the Harris campaign’s snarky commentary, it looks like Trump and Musk have ruffled more than a few feathers from the so-called elite, and in America, nothing sounds sweeter than the sound of progressives losing their cool.
