Kamala Harris has been busy making media appearances in a bid to convince the American public that she is presidential material. However, each attempt seems to backfire spectacularly, leaving her with a series of cringe-worthy moments that highlight her incompetence rather than her leadership skills. Most recently, during a chat with Charlamagne tha God on “The Breakfast Club,” a casual conversation quickly devolved into an awkward dance around one of her biggest failures: managing the border crisis.
When the conversation inevitably turned to the former president’s comments about Haitians under temporary protected status, Harris displayed her ability to shift blame with the grace of a hippo on ice. Rather than tackle the border crisis head-on, she pointed fingers at Donald Trump, claiming he was responsible for a litany of border woes, despite the fact that he has been out of office for nearly three years. Harris’s rhetoric raised eyebrows as she indignantly suggested that the prior administration’s actions, including outlandish claims like immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, were eating their pets, somehow absolved her from accountability.
As the conversation progressed, Harris leaned into her talking points, highlighting the still-warm corpse of the “Border Act of 2024,” which she mistakenly lauded as the most robust piece of immigration legislation in recent history. In a rare moment of critical thinking, Charlamagne reminded her that the Biden administration has not only grown accustomed to its power but also must bear the weight of its failures. He asked if they should take some responsibility for the ongoing border disaster, challenging Harris to step out from under her favorite curtain of deflection.
Naturally, personal accountability isn’t a strong suit for Harris. In response, she regurgitated a rehearsed line about how the first action her administration took was to pass a bill aimed at fixing the “broken immigration system.” Yet, the crisis has not only persisted but escalated, leading many to wonder exactly how effective that bill was in reality if, by her own admission, the border is still a “problem” under their leadership. The fundamental illogic is astounding—if it’s a problem, how can the solution proposed years ago be anything other than a colossal failure?
After navigating through the chaos of her blame game, Charlamagne then posed a rather leading question about her role as “border czar,” a title she seemingly didn’t want. Harris rebutted the claim with a mix of indignation and awkward laughter, attempting to distance herself from the label, despite the fact that she was indeed in charge during one of the worst periods for border security. Her evasive strategy is about as transparent as frosted glass—clear to anyone watching that her time in oversight has not yielded positive results.
The more Harris speaks, the more evident it becomes that her candidacy is teetering on the edge of absurdity. With the mounting challenges of the past three and a half years lingering in the background, her attempts to paint a picture of competence feel less like a campaign and more like a comedic play featuring a lead role that no one was cast for—including herself. If the Harris campaign continues down this path, it might be wise for them to consider a more strategic approach—such as, say, hiding their candidate away until Election Day.
