Hawaii Dems Scheme to Axe Trump from 2024 Ballot!

In a move that most conservatives would deem as un-American as swapping out apple pie for tofu, the Hawaii Senate Judiciary Committee narrowly passed a bill that would potentially disqualify former President Donald Trump from Hawaii’s 2024 ballot. The committee voted 3-2 in favor of the legislation, sneaking it through by the skin of its teeth.

Senate Bill 2392, sponsored by Democrat State Sen. Karl Rhoads, seeks to give the state election officer the authority to exclude Trump from the state’s ballot based on the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution. Now, you might be thinking, “Hey, doesn’t the Constitution say innocent until proven guilty?” Well, apparently in Hawaii, they’re ready to throw that out the window faster than a toupee in a windstorm.

The Democrats are alleging that Trump’s supposed involvement in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot makes him ineligible to run for president under the 14th Amendment. But last time anyone checked, the legal system works on evidence and due process, not baseless accusations and wishful thinking.

Interestingly enough, the bill received a whopping 300 complaints while only 20 people gave it a thumbs up. Jamie Detwiler, president of the Hawaii Federation of Republican Women, was one of the voices of reason who testified against the bill. She accurately pointed out that Trump has not been convicted or charged with inciting insurrection, thus making the bill nothing more than a poorly written piece of legislative garbage.

To add more salt to the wound, the Supreme Court is gearing up to tackle a similar case in Colorado, where they’ll be tuning in to hear arguments about removing Trump from the ballot. It’s starting to seem like the Democrats are more interested in playing political games than actually focusing on the real issues at hand. But hey, at least they’re consistent in their efforts to block Trump at every turn.
