Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) lashed out at President Joe Biden, calling his upcoming visit to the southern border a big, fat insult to the hardworking folks in middle America. The senator took to the airwaves to tear into Biden, saying that his visit to the border is a slap in the face to all the decent, law-abiding citizens who just want to see a secure border and some common-sense immigration policies.

Hawley didn’t pull any punches as he lambasted Biden for his apparent lack of care for border security, mocking the president for planning to stand in a Texas parking lot and boast about how his open border policies are supposedly working. The senator made it clear that he’s had it up to here with the administration’s approach to the border and demanded that Biden take responsibility for the chaos and crisis he’s caused.
Not stopping there, Hawley went on to suggest that Biden should bring back the Remain in Mexico program, a policy from the Trump era that required migrants to wait in Mexico for their asylum hearings. The senator argued that the U.S. shouldn’t be playing “catch and release” with immigrants, and it’s high time Biden toughens up on the border.
Hawley also didn’t mince words when he brought up the tragic death of Laken Riley, a victim suspected to have been killed by an illegal immigrant. He slammed Biden for the death of “good Americans” as a result of his policies and called for the president to come face to face with families who have suffered because of his border blunders.
As if that wasn’t enough, the senator pointed a finger at Biden’s handling of the border crisis and compared it to former President Donald Trump’s strong stance on illegal immigration. He highlighted the stark contrast between Biden’s sudden border visit and Trump’s unwavering commitment to border security, making it clear which approach he believes is best for the country.
The news of Biden’s border visit also drew a sharp response from a former Trump campaign press secretary, who didn’t hold back in calling out the president’s last-minute attempt to follow in Trump’s footsteps. The statement made it crystal clear that Biden’s decision to visit the border on the same day as Trump was nothing more than a feeble and insincere ploy to keep up with the former president’s strong leadership on the border.
