Hillary Clinton, former first lady and two-time failed presidential candidate, once again made headlines with her long history of spinning conspiracy theories. This time, she took aim at Fox News’ Tucker Carlson for daring to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Clinton, Carlson is “a useful idiot” and suggested, without any evidence, that he has been fired from multiple outlets in the United States and could potentially land a contract with a Russian outlet.
But really, who would take Hillary Clinton seriously when it comes to conspiracy theories? After all, this is the same woman who famously claimed her husband, then-President Bill Clinton, was the victim of a “vast right-wing conspiracy” when he faced accusations of having an affair with Monica Lewinsky. We all know how that turned out – the only conspiracy was the one between Bill Clinton and Lewinsky to hide their relationship from the public and from Hillary herself.

And let’s not forget Hillary’s use of the term “fifth column” in reference to Carlson’s interview with Putin. Does she really believe there are 400,000 Russian sympathizers in the U.S. just waiting for a Russian invasion? Either she used the term foolishly or ignorantly, but in the politically polarized environment of 2024, it’s a questionable move no matter the intent.
But fear not, because if anyone can handle Hillary Clinton’s baseless attacks, it’s Tucker Carlson. Carlson’s response? “At least I’m useful.” And that’s putting it lightly.
