House GOP Fury Over Johnson’s Foreign Aid Bill Ignites Calls for Change

House Republicans are steaming mad at Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) as their dissatisfaction with him is reaching boiling point. Reps. Scott Perry (R-PA) and Jim Banks (R-IN) are leading the charge, expressing their frustration with Johnson’s foreign aid framework, which they feel is completely bonkers. Perry went on X to share his outrage, highlighting that the bills allocate a whopping $48.83 billion to Ukraine, $14.1 billion for Israel, and billions more for operations in various regions. But wait, there’s more! There’s not a penny allocated for border security. Yikes!

Banks also chimed in, calling the package “insanity” and pointing out that Ukraine is getting three times as much money as Israel while completely neglecting our own Southern border. This is not sitting well with fellow House Republicans, including Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Andy Biggs (R-AZ), who are waving their red flags in opposition to Johnson’s plans.

Greene even went as far as declaring she would vote against the rule, making it clear that she’s not playing around. And with the growing Republican opposition, Johnson may need to cozy up to the Democrats to get his way.

But all the drama didn’t stop there. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) even joined in on the action, publicly declaring his support for Greene’s motion and boldly suggesting that Johnson should just hand in his resignation. Ouch! That’s gotta sting!

And let’s not forget Jason Robertson, co-founder of American Tribune, who asked all the hard-hitting questions. Massie was quick to respond, listing out all the grievances that have led him to take this stand. It’s safe to say, the tension in the House is palpable.

But Johnson, not to be outdone, stood his ground and made it crystal clear that he’s not budging. He adamantly refused to step down, brushing off the idea as utterly ridiculous.

So, it looks like we’ve got a showdown on our hands as Republicans butt heads over Johnson’s foreign aid framework. With tensions running high, it’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out. Stay tuned!
