Hunter Biden Faces Jury in Federal Gun Purchase Trial

In Wilmington, Delaware, a group of twelve jurors and four alternate jurors were selected on Monday to determine the fate of Hunter Biden in a case related to a 2018 gun purchase. Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, stood in the federal courtroom alongside his defense attorneys and some family members, including first lady Jill Biden. His wife Melissa Cohen Biden, daughter Ashley Biden, and Hollywood lawyer Kevin Morris were also present. Special counsel David Weiss represented the government during the proceedings.

Prospective jurors were individually questioned, with a focus on their views on drug addiction and Second Amendment rights rather than their political opinions about the Biden family. The charges against Hunter Biden stem from allegations that he lied on a federal gun form in 2018 about his drug use to purchase a revolver and then held onto the gun for 11 days.

The trial will resume on Tuesday, and the government is set to present its case against Hunter Biden. The trial is anticipated to last up to two weeks. Hunter Biden is facing three felony charges, which could result in a maximum prison sentence of 25 years. However, it is improbable that he would receive the maximum penalty if convicted.

The situation is ongoing and will be updated as more information becomes available.
